Important Facts about Property Taxes

All property assessments are based on 70% of market value.

Elderly and disabled property owners may qualify for the state benefit. Call the assessors office at (860) 395-3137 for more information.

There is also a "Local Option" benefit for elderly and disabled poperty owners that folow the same qualification.

The filing period for these benefits is February 1st through May 15th.

There is a similar program for elderly and disabled renters. The filing period for the renters is May 15th through September 15th.
