692017_65410_0.pngThe Library teamed up with Valley Shore Animal Welfare League
to turn reading into food for rescued pets. One can of pet food will be donated to VSAWL for every book you read. Teens will receive a gift card for every 3 books they read (maximum of 3 gift cards per person.)  There will be no weekly prizes or raffles.

Audio and print books count, as does your school summer reading assignment.

The Read to Feed mural was created by Old Saybrook teen Samantha Hart to promote the successful summer reading program. Each book read and registered at the library by a teenager, resulted in a donation of one can of pet food to Valley Shore Animal Rescue League in Westbrook.

Come. Sit. Color.  It’s not just for grownups anymore.
