Planning a Wedding (opposite or same-sex) or a Civil Union ?
Here's all the information you need
As of October 1, 2009, a Connecticut marriage or civil union license can only be obtained from the Connecticut town in which the ceremony will be performed. The license is only valid for 65 days from the date of issue and there is NO blood test required. Click on the Commonly Requested Documents link above for an application or if you need a Justice of the Peace, just click on that link as well. It is the couple's responsibility to make all arrangements for an officiator. The Town Clerk's office does not perform any ceremony, it only issues the appropriate license.
The application process is actually very simple. There is no waiting period, but both parties must appear in person to apply. Please bring with you the following
