Our counseling programs are an integral component of the agency’s services, providing access to quality, confidential and affordable counseling for youth and their families.
Youth and Family Services complies with a Professional Code of Ethics and clients are assured that all sessions remain confidential. Centrally located at 322 Main Street in The Kirtland House, Youth and Family Services provides a safe, secure and comfortable environment for those seeking help.
In addition, clinicians are present within the Middle and High Schools to provide support services to students.
Office Hours and Appointments
Counseling sessions are scheduled by appointment and are available during daytime and evening hours. The administrative office is open Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM.
24-hour emergency coverage is provided in cooperation with the Old Saybrook Police Department.
Counseling Fees
Fees directly support the counseling hours provided at Youth and Family Services and are based upon a sliding scale, based upon one’s ability to pay.
We believe it is extremely important that all clients pay a fee for their counseling and make a commitment to the process of change. Fees are collected at the end of each counseling session, starting with the second session.
No one is refused services because of limited financial resources.
Youth and Family Services does not currently participate in any insurance reimbursement programs.
