The Library teamed up with Valley Shore Animal Welfare League
to turn reading into food for rescued pets. You can “spend” your Acton Bucks to feed the animals!




Weekday Programs

Crafternoons: Tuesdays, all day.  Drop in to make a fun craft to take home. Supplies provided.

ABC Amigos : Preschool Story Time: Tuesday mornings, July 11 – August 29, 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  Free, drop-in preschool bilingual story time. Sing songs, play games, and listen to stories in English and Spanish. Open to all children regardless of Spanish-speaking ability.

It’s Theater Time! with Judy Potter:  Wednesdays; July 5, 12, 19 and 26 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Listen to a story and learn how to act it out. Best for ages 3 – 7.   Please register.

             
All programs free & drop in unless noted.
Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

June 22:  Animal Embassy: 6:30 p.m.                                                                                      
Nature’s Architects: Be amazed by the talents of a diverse group of Animal Ambassadors that build complicated structures. We’ll study the architectural feats of nest building, burrow making and web spinning. Meet Animal Ambassadors such as a; Redfoot Tortoise, Monk Parakeet, Mandarin Duck, Chilean Rose-Haired Tarantula, Ferret, Argentinian Horned Frog, African Hedgehog or African Porcupine, and a Flower Mantis. Best for ages 6+.

June 29:    Laughter Yoga, with Robert Rivest: 6:30 p.m.                         
Laughter Yoga combines interactive laughter exercises with deep centering breaths and calming movements. It is a joyful way to connect with others and laugh your blues away!  Best for ages 4 and up.

July 6:   Family Movie Night:  Disney’s® Moana : 6:00 – 7:50 p.m.                     
(Disney, 2017. Rated PG. 107 mins.) Hawaiian movie party! Free popcorn, refreshments, & Hawaiian leis.

July 13: The Caterpillar Lab: Drop in exhibit from  4:00 – 7:00 p.m.                 
Come experience The Caterpillar Lab, a New England based, nonprofit organization passionate about showcasing the amazing diversity of Northeastern caterpillars. A professional educator from The Caterpillar Lab will bring a seasonal sampling of native caterpillars. Best for ages 5+.

July 20:  The Marvelous Mutts: 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.                                                        
Join us on the lawn (weather permitting) to see a team of elite canine athletes from shelters and rescue groups all over the country. The Marvelous Mutts produce thrilling canine sport entertainment !  ~All ages. Bring a blanket or lawn chair.  At 6:00 pm. meet Chompers of the Hartford Yard Goats for a photo op!

July 27: The Frisbee Show: 6:30 p.m.                                   
In this inspiring, high energy program, Todd captivates by demonstrating basic tricks, catches and combinations. The program also includes a brief science lesson on the aerodynamics of Frisbees and a bit of history including rare and unique Frisbees. Best for ages 4+.
