Sweet Dreams
After mom and dad read a story and tucked her in
They turned out the light and looked at their kin.
"Sweet Dreams," they said and left her sight
As she fell asleep into the night.
As her conscience drifted,
Her spirits lifted.
Away from the real world she was guided,
Into another world she collided.
She went to an unusual place
And found herself watching a race.
She saw the hare running in the lead
While the tortoise was keeping a constant speed.
Up in the sky she could see the stars
And the cow coming straight from mars.
He went over the moon while the cat played his fiddle,
Just like in the riddle.
Across the way was little Miss Muffet,
She was there on her tuffet.
Whle humpty dumpty was sitting on the wall,
Before he had himself a great fall.
All her memories from her childhood
Stayed in her dreams as she knew for good.
While soon she would grow up,
These tales fo comfort she would not give up.
For when time came and she married a man,
They had a girl named little Anne.
She read her a bedtime story and turned out the light,
"Sweet Dreams," she said and kissed her goodnight.
And she returned to her bed
And laid down her head.
She went back to her dreams
Because to her it seems,
You're Never Too Old to Still Have Dreams!
