HOME ALONE
Dear Mom,
Thanks for trusting me to stay home alone!
I behaved, but our house, well that's a different story:
While you were gone an antique vase broke itself,
The fish jumped into the toilet and flushed itself,
The dishwasher overflowed and
Flooded the first floor!
The chocolate you've been saving
It unwrapped by itself,
And forced itself down my throat!
That stupid red nail polish
Got a hideous crack down the middle,
And ended up on our brand new rug!
I started getting scared when
A trail of muddy footprints,
About my size,
Ended up on your bed.
Somehow a large peanut butter stain,
Roughly the shape of a hand,
Appeared on the new kitchen cabinet!
Then that money for college
When and gambled itself away!
A nasty green fungus
Showed up in that pie you baked!
Things got even crazier when I saw our camera,
I thought the last I saw, it was in one piece!
My flat iron blew a fuse,
And all the cookies disappeared.
Dad's skates are stuck in a hole that showed up in the wall!
I don't know if it's just me,
But I think we have ghosts.
But knowing you, you'll have a fit,
So I've decided to lie low a bit at Grandma's.
